Cross Platform Content Gatherer

Event Exhibitor is looking for a unique person to take on hybrid role in our newsroom. We want a reporter/journalist who wants to turn unique stories for our digital platforms but also has a passion for virtual reality, augmented reality, marketing strategies, and new technologies. This position will spend the weekend working with the news teams which could include producing, editing and writing web stories. We are looking for a creative multi-media journalist who wants innovate each and every day. Past writing/producing experience preferred, but must be interested in going into the community to turn unique, exclusive multi-media content.

Key Activities:
Write and produce quality content for the Event Exhibitor platformed aimed at educating brand crafters and ambassadors
Shoot, write and edit content to enhance online coverage for all platforms.
Locate people and uncover reportable information applying an expertise in online newsgathering.

Education & Experience/Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in web journalism or related degree or commensurate experience.
Minimum of two years of experience in related field.

Skills & Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have experience with Content Management Systems, HTML/Dreamweaver, CSS and Social Networking.
Sound editorial judgment.
Attention to detail and good follow through.
Proven initiative in developing stories.
Operates with considerable latitude. Independently performs assignments with instruction limited results expected. Determines and develops approach to solutions.
Strong organizational, research, and development skills and abilities.
Computer literacy required.
Strong broadcast and AP style writing skills.
Proficient at posting content to various websites.
Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
Working knowledge of multi-media production techniques.
Videography and non-linear editing experience preferred.

Requirements:
Driving required. Valid Driver’s License, good driving record and ability to provide certificate of insurability with our company required insurance limits.
Ability to work a flexible schedule.
